UNEP DTU Partnership has joined the Paris Committee on Capacity-building Network, a network that seeks to engage initiatives and entities at local, national, regional, and global levels to support capacity-building efforts for greater climate action.

Overcoming gaps and needs

Since 2015, the Paris Committee on Capacity-building (PCCB) has worked to overcome current and emerging gaps and needs in implementing and further enhancing capacity-building in developing countries.

The PCCB Network is a volountary association of stakeholders engaged in climate-related capacity-building who believe in the power of collective action.
Aligned with the PCCB, the aim of the Network is to foster synergies and enhance coherence and coordination in capacity-building efforts for climate action.

Building capacity on all levels

With a mission to support developing countries in their efforts to progress towards a climate-resilient, low carbon future, UNEP DTU Partnership has been working on capacity-building since its beginning almost 30 years ago.

By supporting country processes to integrate climate priorities in national development planning, the building of national transparency systems to track and report on climate actions and their impacts and market development and innovative business models, UNEP DTU Partnership helps build capacity on all levels and in diverse sectors around the world.

Institutional architecture

The PCCB plays a key role in ensuring coherence and coordination in capacity-building activities under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.

Its guidance facilitates the design and implementation of effective and sustainable capacity-building efforts through a coherent and consistent institutional architecture and avoiding duplication and fragmentation of efforts assisting countries in building climate capacity.

By identifying capacity gaps and needs and potential solutions, the PCCB fosters collaboration between actors at all levels, strengthening networks and partnerships to enhance synergies and promote knowledge- and experience-sharing.
