Todd Ngara

Senior Researcher

Todd is a Senior Researcher at UNEP DTU Partnership. He has been involved in climate-smart agriculture activities in selected African countries in recent years. The latest such project is identification of key priorities in the climate-smart agriculture sector that contribute to low carbon and climate resilience in Kenya.

Earlier he was engaged in climate change mitigation projects ranging from clean development mechanism, technology needs assessment, development of grid emission factors and NAMAs. He has implemented projects in several African countries such as Botswana, Malawi, Tanzania, Zambia, Kenya Uganda, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, Burundi, Mozambique, Ghana, Nigeria, Benin, Niger, Mauritius, Sudan, Lesotho, Eswatini (Swaziland), Senegal,  Sao Tome and Principe and Angola.

Prior to joining the UNEP DTU, Todd contributed towards the development of the 2006 IPCC Guidelines at the National Greenhouse Gas Inventory Programme (NGGIP) at the IGES in Japan. He edited the energy chapter of the Guidelines.

Todd holds a M.Sc. degree in Meteorology from the University of Nairobi and a Ph.D. in Agro-climatology from the University of Zimbabwe.
