Mirko works as a Programme Associate for UNEP DTU Partnership.
He works with international, national, sub-national, public and private institutions to support them in analysing their climate, sustainable development, and transformational change impacts, and in developing strategies to align to the global goals of the Paris Agreement and SDGs. In particular, Mirko works, or have worked, on the implementation of the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT) in Costa Rica, Argentina, Trinidad and Tobago, and Kenya. He also works with development finance institutions on the topic of climate footprint and climate strategies. Mirko’s main focus is on development and application of methodologies and frameworks for assessing climate, sustainable development, and transformational change impacts of climate actions.
Mirko holds a MSc in Environmental Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark, and a BSc in Environmental Engineering from the University of Padua (Italy), including an exchange stay in the Middle East Technical University (Turkey). Before joining UDP, he has also worked in the private and public sectors, respectively in the field of environmental management, health, and safety, and sustainability education.
