Jorge Hinojosa has been involved in diverse climate change mitigation and adaptation projects in Latin America. He has a background in climate policy and finance and he has coordinated climate action plans and clean energy studies with international public and private institutions while working at the IDB, UNEP, UNFCCC, GGGI and other consultancies.
Jorge has extensive experience in coordinating climate finance projects at a local level, including national NDC analysis and UNFCCC mechanisms. He has extensive experience in GCF readiness implementation at a national level collaborating with private and public stakeholders for climate policy strategies. Jorge has also been involved in NDC implementation projects as a consultant with Latin American countries. He has also been involved in the downscaling of Mexico’s climate change agenda to municipalities, the private sector and rural communities. At UNEP DTU, he is working in climate finance and policy projects responding to the Paris Agreement, involving international research and case studies.
Jorge holds an M.Sc. in Environmental Studies and Sustainability Science from Lund University.
