Being an integrated part of the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), an internationally accredited university producing research at the highest level, UNEP DTU Partnership creates value by using the natural, technical and social sciences to benefit society.
UNEP DTU staff cover a broad range of disciplines, such as economics, political science, development studies, geography, environmental sciences and engineering. This means that the Partnership is able to draw on a vast range of scientific expertise and to collaborate with world-leading research partners.
The unique UNEP DTU model implies that most of our research draws upon observations and data collected in relation to our development and implementation activities, with the objective to convert research outputs into practical solutions in our partner countries, specifically in support of SDGs 7, SDG 13 and SDG 17.
To achieve this we collaborate with other DTU departments and leading international research institutions to enhance developing countries’ access to scientifically based solutions.
UNEP DTU research is anchored in five thematic sections where we have specific knowledge and strategic interests, and where promising opportunities exist for collaboration and partnerships, both within DTU and externally.
Our research is conducted both within and across sections.
In addition, UNEP DTU supervises Ph.D. and Master’s students, whose projects are defined in accordance with our thematic skills base and strategic priorities.
