For 30 years, UNEP DTU Partnership has worked with energy, climate and sustainable development in developing countries around the world.

The partnership’s vast experience now makes it a leading research-based advisory organization, for facilitating developing countries reach their energy, climate and sustainable development goals.

UNEP DTU Partnership has a unique position as part of both UN Environment and the Technical University of Denmark, one of Europe’s leading universities. This gives the partnership access to the highest level of scientific knowledge and the opportunity to draw on a vast range of scientific expertise and collaborate with world leading scientific partners.

The staff at UNEP DTU Partnership are not only experts at implementing energy and climate projects, much of their expertise is underpinned by undertaking cutting-edge climate research carried out to qualify solutions in developing countries.

At the same time, the partnership’s researchers represent all geographical regions with in-depth knowledge of regional and country conditions.

In addition, UNEP DTU Partnership works with a wide network of collaborating partners in more than 60 countries to implement projects quickly and efficiently in partnership with local stakeholders.

Section for Mitigation Analysis and Data Management

Analyses efforts to reduce emissions or enhance sinks of greenhouse gases with the aim to inform the preparation and implementation of climate policies and action. Provides in-depth technical advice as well as tracking tools and MRV systems.

Section for Impact assessment and Adaptation Analysis

Identifies and analyses context-specific sectoral planning and policy options, including barriers and enablers for private sector action. Develops and utilises methodologies to measure and track effects, gaps, and trends in climate adaptation and mitigation, while looking at synergies between climate and broader sustainable development goals.

Provides the institutional development expertise required to engage on policy, planning, transparency and market development and for climate policy integration into regular development processes.
