Digital Officer

UNEP DTU Partnership (UDP) is seeking a Digital Officer to lead and develop our digital portfolio and contribute to our graphic design activities.

UDP is a leading international research and advisory institution on energy, climate and sustainable development. As a United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) Collaborating Centre, UDP is an active participant in both the planning and implementation of UNEP’s Climate Change Strategy and Energy Programme. Its work focuses on assisting developing countries transition towards more low carbon development paths, and supports integration of climate-resilience in national development through in-depth research, policy analysis, and capacity building activities.

UNEP DTU employs 70 researchers of 26 different nationalities. We are based in the UN City, Copenhagen.

The digital officer is responsible for proactively engaging various internal and external audiences’ online, through creative use and effective management of digital channels, primarily our new WordPress platform and social media & graphic design.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the functionality of our web platform.  Evaluate and manage website performance, facilitate hosting and server management. Streamline navigation and increase UDP’s online presence.
  • Monitor analytics for web platform & social media platforms (Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube)
  • Liaise with UDP’s Communication officer in the production of content, provide copyediting and proofreading where necessary, occasionally draft content and upload high quality, engaging content to the website and upload resources and other programme content
  • Develop, maintain and update SoMe content in partnership with other Communication officer (content & media)
  • Lead the creation of compelling designs and layouts and execute on the production and delivery of output, within a given timeframe.
  • As a member of the Communications team, contribute to the implementation of the communication strategy and liaise with other agencies in the UN City.
  • Provide support in planning, organizing and evaluating events at the UN City, Copenhagen and internationally.

Required profile

  • Demonstrated experience with content management for web and SoMe. Experience with WordPress is an advantage
  • Understanding of web design and typography principles
  • Experience in drafting persuasive content for web and SoMe
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop
  • English Proficiency or English as Mother tongue. Additional UN Languages welcomed
  • Must be highly self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized and flexible
  • Positive attitude, with the desire to work in a fast-paced, agile environment

Education

  • Master’s degree in digital development and/or web communication, graphic design or communication, with additional courses or/and relevant job experiences.

Salary and appointment terms

The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) or the agreement for Journalists in the service of the state or other relevant agreement.

The period of employment is two years. This position is expected to start no later than 1 February 2020.
