Through online platforms, webinars and digital workshops UNEP DTU Partnership is continuing our work on climate action and capacity building for a greener future.
Since the global spread of Covid19 earlier this year, UNEP DTU Partnership has adapted our approaches, finding new ways to engage our partners, and taking advantage of digital technology to continue to reach our stakeholders and share knowledge and experience on climate action.
Two new digital workshops
By virtually gathering relevant stakeholders on national or regional levels, and connecting them with experts, sometimes located thousands of miles away, these workshops facilitate knowledge sharing on a broader scale than previously possible.
Currently, UNEP DTU Partnership is running two online workshops on regional and national levels originally planned to be held in person.
The first workshop focuses on building capacity to prepare successful Technology Action Plans (TAPs) under the Technology Needs Assessment Project, and the second is a virtual course on energy efficiency and project bundling for municipalities in Latin America.
Step-by-step plans for climate action
Around the world, UNEP DTU Partnership is implementing the Technology Needs Assessments project leading to the development of national TAPs. These plans support the implementation of locally prioritised technologies aimed at both climate action and development.
Together with Technology Needs Assessments regional centres, UNED DTU Partnership is conducting two online training sessions, taking participants through the basic steps of preparing a TAP, and provide a forum for knowledge sharing.
Energy Efficiency in a bundle
The main objective of the virtual course on energy efficiency and project bundling is to provide guidance on the technical, operational and financial aspects of long-term energy efficiency strategic plans and how to implement those though the project bundling approach.
The course is prepared by UNEP DTU Partnership’s Copenhagen Center on Energy Efficiency (C2E2) and focuses on three main energy sectors, namely, public buildings, street lighting and water provision. It has been organized in collaboration with the Argentinean Network of Municipalities against Climate Change.
Continuing towards the Paris Agreement and SDGs
As the world continues to cope with the effects of Covid19, UNEP DTU Partnership will continue our work in almost 100 countries around the globe, taking advantage of digital technology, making sure we can continue our work to assist developing countries to deliver on the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals
