9. October 2020, 4 pm (CET)

This webinar is part of the “ICAT webinar series: advancing climate action transparency in Latin America and the Caribbean”, a cycle of presentations in Spanish of impacts, results, and methodologies from the ICAT (Initiative for Climate Action Transparency) project for specialists and the public in Latin America and the Caribbean. In this webinar, we will present the modelling tool GACMO (Greenhouse gas Abatement Cost MOdel) developed by the UNEP-DTU Partnership which evaluates mitigation actions and their associated cost at the national or sub-national level, being used to support the preparation of nationally determined contributions (NDC). We will also look at possibilities for collaboration towards the implementation of GACMOs on a larger scale in countries of the region that need tools for the rapid assessment of their mitigation actions, in order to increase the ambition of their international climate commitments.

Gerardo Sánchez-Martínez, Senior Advisor, UNEP-DTU Partnership

Speakers/Panelists:

  • Denis Desgain, Head Section Mitigation and Data Management, UNEP-DTU Partnership
