Energy Efficiency Financing Charette

The charette will bring together two groups: the world’s finance community (private sector, development banks, philanthropic organizations, climate finance facilities, etc.) and the projects and initiatives that are at the forefront of delivering the transition towards energy efficiency. See the Energy Efficiency Financing Call to Action for more details.

14 June, 2022 18:00 - 16 June, 2022 13:00

Hosted at the UNEP Copenhagen Climate Centre

In-person only event

There is a fundamental disconnect between the finance community and energy efficiency.
The Mission Efficiency Financing Charette will be convened to undo this disconnect.

The charette will bring together two groups: the world’s finance community (private sector, development banks, philanthropic organizations, climate finance facilities, etc.) and the projects and initiatives that are at the forefront of delivering the transition towards energy efficiency.

This will NOT be your typical one-way dialogue and limited audience participation conference. The goal will be to address current gaps and facilitate commitments to work together to redefine investing in energy efficiency projects and to launch an energy efficiency market readiness initiative at COP27 (Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, November 2022).

The message we want to bring to COP27 is that, once and for all:
We have figured out and are committed to investing in energy efficiency – our best chance of meeting energy transition and global climate action goals.

About Mission Efficiency

Mission Efficiency is a collective of commitments and actions from a coalition of governments, organizations and initiatives that come together to accelerate the transition towards energy-efficient economies worldwide. The end-use sectors covered by Mission Efficiency collectively represent nearly all of the global electricity consumption. The Mission Efficiency partners (formerly the Three Percent Club) bring the expertise to deliver solutions in these sectors that provide energy and climate action.

Who Should Attend?

We invite financial institutions and partners to send multiple attendees that can in parallel participate in the two parallel breakout sessions, where appropriate. We also ask that organizations come with a willingness to engage with Mission Efficiency long-term, including making commitments and being ready to support for the months leading up to COP27.
As a partnership, we operate under the guiding principle that more can be accomplish by joining and working together than by standing apart and working alone!
